Vinny Burns.

A name that conjures up the sound of fluid, soaring, blistering guitar playing. Vinny, alongside keyboard maestro Darren Wharton founded Dare, the UK's quintessential melodic rock band of the Eighties.

He went on to join Ultravox for a while, then he played alongside Steve Howe (Yes, GTR) in Asia. Vinny then held the Guitar slinger's post in UK AOR giants Ten, releasing numerous albums including, 'The Name Of The Rose' and 'Far Beyond The World'

Vinny released his solo CD 'The Journey', a collection of self penned melodies and songs that showcased his awesome technique coupled with an unparalleled melodic sense that sets him apart from other wannabe Guitar Heroes.

Vinny has also been involved in recordings with others in side projects, including Bob Catley, Magnum's mercurial vocalist.

Vinny has set his stamp on the rock scene again, alongside his long time friend and musical collaborator Sam Blue, in the eponymously named band 'BURNS BLUE'. With the release of, 'What If...', a huge slab of tuneful rock, Vinny once again raises the bar on guitar driven melodic rock.

When it comes to gear, a guitarist of Vinny's calibre doesn't settle for second best.

That's why he accepted Tipton Amps' offer to produce a signature model amplifier, named in honour of Vinny and called 'THE VIPER'

Vinny worked closely with Tipton Amps in the design of the amplifier, which harks back and pays homage to the great British rock amps of the late sixties, but with a little more *grunt* The Viper is a class A/B 50W all valve single channel head that is built to Vinny's exacting standards.

Nothing is left to chance. The amplifier is constructed on military grade FR4 turret board. The resistors are very close (better than 1%) tolerance. The capacitors that form the tone shaping and decoupling train are sourced from NOS (New old stock) Phillips/Mullard and are whisper quiet. All you hear is guitar and nothing but guitar.

The valves are selected for their high gain, low microphony and excellent signal to noise characteristics.

The power and output transformers are wound with tone and reliability as standard. You wanna talk tough? This amp is built to take the knocks.
